Purple Day for Epilepsy - 26 March

Purple Day is a grassroots effort dedicated to increasing awareness about epilepsy worldwide.  On 26 March people from around the globe are asked to wear purple, fundraise and spread the word about epilepsy.

The event was founded in 2008 by 9 year old Cassidy Megan from Canada who wanted people to talk about epilepsy and let people with the world's most common serious brain disorder know they were not alone.  In 2009, Queensland was the first state in Australia to take up Purple Day and have proudly continued the tradition.

Brisbane City Hall, Story Bridge, Treasury Casing and Roma Street Parkland's Wall of Water will all be illuminated purple on Sunday 26 March.
