Road Resurfacing - on Franz Rd from Bowley St to Union St

Friday, 21 September 2018

IMPORTANT NOTICE FROM BRISBANE CITY COUNCIL
ROAD RESURFACING WORKS PLANNED FOR:

Franz Road, Clayfield
From Bowley Street to Union Street

Brisbane City Council wishes to advise that pre-road resurfacing works, including potholing works and asphalt resurfacing works, including profiling and failure repairs are scheduled at the above location.

These works are part of Council’s commitment to building smoother suburban streets by undertaking 2000 resurfacing jobs across Brisbane between 2016 and 2020.

This work is expected to start from Monday 24 September and take up to 1 week to complete, subject to suitable weather and construction conditions.

NOTE: No works are undertaken on Sundays. Construction hours: 7am to 5pm.
Please assist us by not parking your vehicle on the road within the work zone during this time.

Any vehicle that is parked on the road when works are scheduled to occur will be relocated to
facilitate the works [Section 36 Public Land and Council Assets Local Law 2014].

Temporary inconveniences you may experience during the roadwork include:
 noise, dust and possible vibration from construction equipment and strong odour during the asphalt laying process
 changed traffic conditions including minor traffic delays, no standing for traffic in the work zone, reduced speed limits, lane closures, and detours around the limits of the job
 controlled access to driveways, with up to 15 minute periods of wait time. Traffic control officers will be in place to assist residents and pedestrians accessing properties
 temporary street lighting and service or collection of equipment up to one hour either side of start/finish times.

Please note, once the resurfacing is complete, line marking works, service raising and works to install loops to connect traffic signals may also be undertaken. These works are generally completed within six weeks following the resurfacing works. Every effort will be made to minimise the impacts on the local community and we thank you for your patience and co-operation during these important works.
